Checker Station orbiting earth
O! M! G! There's a hole in the CheckerStation and it's loosing air! Better fix this before the situation gets worse. Fully CG, except the face plate on closeup to medium shots, this has been a pure joy to work on. For wider shots we put a digital double inside the helmet to gain some freedom for camera moves.
Sweet Memories
Thinking back to when he was a kid Tobi remembers his childhood friend Marina. They used to play in Ms. Vogelsangs' backyard where she did paper chase games with them. The good times ended when Marina moved away and they lost touch.
That's the backstory that kicks of the film as Tobi has to find Marina again to solve all the riddles the movie hold for him. The sequence of remembering his good childhood days and his best friend Marina was done in an animated-illustrations style to emphasize the playfullness of the fun days that his childhood was.
CHARACTER DESIGN
Nice, friendly, cute (but not too cute), styled for older children, don't make it look "pre school", bright, colorfull but also grown up and high quality - a lot of attributes for our characters to hold and a really good starting point for the design process.

Travelling the world, always making sure we know where we're at (while staying with our illustrative style from the Memories sequence).
